A new contemporary art center in Milan
With great success, the Fondazione Maria Cristina Carlini officially opened its doors on Wednesday, January 22nd. The highly attended event welcomed notable figures from the art world, the broader cultural scene, and the media, along with a large and enthusiastic public.
During the event, Scientific Director Flaminio Gualdoni spoke, presenting the Foundation’s goals and mission, alongside sculptor Maria Cristina Carlini.
Flaminio Gualdoni stated: We aim to create a very open and engaging space dedicated to sculpture in all its forms, especially given that we are in Milan, one of the key cities for sculpture. This is also an opportunity to deeply explore the work of Maria Cristina Carlini, to organize thematic exhibitions on specific aspects of her practice, and to position her work both within the postwar sculptural debate and the international art scene.
The new space is indeed committed to enhancing the work of Maria Cristina Carlini, opening itself up to different cultural realities, and becoming a point of reference for scholars, art enthusiasts, and young artists. It also aims to foster a dynamic and interactive dialogue on contemporary art through conferences, debates, exhibitions, talks, readings, and much more.
